I am a 40 something Christian woman, married to a wonderful, romantic man and we have two sweet daughters. We live in an old two story cottage home on 3 little acres just inside our small town city limits. We enjoy having our friends and family into our home and living in a rural community with southern hospitality and charm. I enjoy our little country church and the families that we fellowship with there. Our home used to be a Tea Room that my Mama and I, along with my daughters, owned and operated. (See "Tea Rooms" located in my Labels.) It was so much fun and we hope to have another Tea Room someday. I love romantic things and like my home and clothing to reflect romance. I love bird houses and hearts and I have them around various parts of my home. Basically, I love everything romantic and I am a "Romantic at Heart." :) I hope to meet many new blogging friends here and share recipes and decorating ideas.

Pumpkin Festival

We had a lot of fun over the weekend at the Rockin H Ranch in Norwood, MO. We were part of the entertainment and enjoyed singing and playing for the people there.

But there was a bit of trouble buzzing around.......literally........as soon as we got out of our van and started tuning our instruments, Shanna got stung by a yellow jacket. It hurt her arm and she was worried about not being able to play very well. But Cody and Dawnnell came to the rescue with a burn spray that numbed the skin and made the swelling go down. We thought that was the end......but there were more of those little stingers and they continued to buzz by us all the time we were playing, landing on our strings, fingers and such. It was kind of scary and annoying at the same time since I am allergic to the little stingers.

Then Papa came up on stage and sprayed us with some skin-so-soft by Avon and that seemed to help out. They came back but didn't stick around.

After we were done entertaining, the fiddle contest began and Shanna wanted to give it a try. She ended up with the 3rd place title and a nice little check to go along with it. The first place winner had to stop in the middle of his tune because the yellow jacket came and landed on his hand. Those little stingers were just determined to be pests that day.

All in all, it was a good day and we all really enjoyed ourselves.

Here's the website link for where we were. It is a fun place to visit. www.rockinh.net
